Summer Lovin'

I have been on a summer lovin' high the past few days with the gorgeous weather! After the rainy June we have had I'm appreciating it even more. The pool water was a little cold today and the baby made sure I knew he felt the same by kicking me like crazy. After some rays and exercise I was in the mood for something refreshing. The cure to my craving? Berry popsicles! These sweet treats are refreshing, easy, and a good way to get your fruits in for the day. With the fourth coming up next week I may be getting into the festive spirt and make some red (strawberry) and blue (blueberry) ones.

Hope you enjoy the recipe

Makes 8

Ingredients:
2 cups frozen strawberries
1/2 cup raspberries
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup of sugar or splenda
Popsicle sticks

Directions:
In a food processor or blender, combine berries.
Add water and process until smooth.
Stir in sugar and blend well
Spoon mixture into 8 popsicle molds. Insert popsicle sticks half way.
Freeze at least 2 hours
Unmold, serve, and ENJOY

Happy 2nd Anniversary to our very first couple!!

I can't believe it has been two years since Hallie and Travis wedding in Washington Court House. I remember being so excited for to have my very first wedding and I definitly could not have asked for a better couple. It didn't seem like work since Hallie and I had such a good time together. I am so happy for this beautiful couple who now have the cutest little boy Mason, to many more years of love and happiness!!

Orange Inspiration

I have to be honest, I've never been a fan of orange. I never found it to be a nice color and for the longest time it made me think of Halloween, and when I saw the students of a college whose sole color was orange (so unflattering) it made me thankful for my scarlet and gray. Getting a little off track BUT there is an orange light at the end of the tunnel. The past summer or two I have noticed that orange is making a come back, if it was ever "in" to begin with, and I'm sorta liking it!!! Now if you don't have a tan FORGET it! But if you happen to have a glow then I think the orange and gold jewelry is so pretty. For a color I once detested I am now turning the corner everywhere and finding something orange I like: sundresses, room decor, flowers, etc
I understand I have babbled way to long to introduce an inspiration board but I felt like I needed to explain how far I have come in doing a board like this.

Although my outlook has changed it hasn't changed enough to like this....(sorry sports fans)

I HEART CANDY!!

This past weekend the daughter of Ralph Lauren got married. Dylan Lauren married her fiance Paul Arrouet at her parents estate. Her dress was custom made by her father which I think is SO CUTE! How many people can say their dad made their wedding gown?! There are no photos out of the wedding yet but I found this unique smorgasbord from Dylan's bridal shower. Dylan owns 5 candy stores so a candy themed shower was fitting. I think the initials are a great idea for any wedding or shower. You could do candy, flowers, cupcakes, or any thing else your heart desires. The letters were custom made by I Love Lucite (310-966-0740)

Destination Weddings in the US

Martha Stewart came up with a list of the best destination locations in almost all 50 states therefore there is something for everyone! I enjoyed look through this so much I thought I would share a couple of my favorites with you. I was shocked at how many great places in states I never would have thought. It's fun for wedding but it's also fun to look for unique vacation spots.

Alabama
Huntsville Museum of Art, Huntsville hsvmuseum.org. This modern space offers four versatile settings for saying "I do," including an outdoor patio and a large gallery with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Big Spring International Park. If they can tear themselves away from admiring the landscape, guests can browse the contemporary Southern artwork.

Arizona
The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain, Marana ritzcarlton.com,  The attentive wedding planners at this new resort (shown at right) will create menus and drinks for you (even color-coordinated margaritas).

Colorado
Aspen Mountain Club, Aspen thelittlenell.com, A breathtaking three-mile gondola ride carries guests from the resort to the clubhouse, where a deck looks out over the Elk Mountain Range. If alfresco entertaining isn't your style, indoor options include a wood-paneled wine room or the Montagna Exclusive, a top-rated bar and restaurant with a 20,000-bottle wine cellar.

**I've never been to Colorado but have always wanted to go and this has just made it higher on my travel wish list.

Idaho (who would have ever thought idaho had a place like this? I think that is why I love this article so much)
Coeur d'Alene Resort, Coeur d'Alene cdaresort.com. Golf lovers go gaga for this lakeside resort on a pro-grade course, where couples can tie the knot overlooking its floating 14th hole. Other options for nuptials: the waterfront chapel or penthouse suite. To get married on the lake itself, board one of the property's six cruise boats with your guests.

Kentucky
The Henry Clay, Louisville thehenryclay.com. This neoclassical revival building was listed as an endangered site after its abandonment in 1987, but an overhaul has returned it to a stately space. The Beaux Arts ballroom, one of nine ceremony and reception sites on the property, features colorful stained-glass skylights. And there's a cool perk: When you book your wedding here, the nearby SkyLoft will waive the venue fee for a rehearsal dinner at its rooftop.

Minnesota **wow this is gorgeous
Como Park Zoo & Conservatory, St. Paul comozooconservatory.org. At the site's Marjorie McNeeley Conservatory, you can have an "outdoor" wedding without worrying about the weather -- the Sunken Garden and the North Garden are surrounded by glass. You can also get married in one of two outdoor spaces: the Zen-like Japanese garden, or the Excedra, a tree-dotted area on the front lawn with a frog pond and a waterfall. Or, for a truly spectacular event, book the 65,000-square-foot visitor's center.
New Jersey
Natirar, Peapack natirar.com. Natural luxury is at the fore of this 500-acre resort, once owned by the King of Morocco. The Raritan River flows through the property ("Natirar" is "Raritan," spelled backward), and newborn lambs roam the grounds each spring. A semipermanent tent for up to 225 people provides views of the entire property, and on-site catering is available.
