Bridal Boot Camp

"Losing inches, getting toned, and developing a healthy workout habit" this was the answer I got from Lakisha Mays when I asked her why she signed up for bridal boot camp. Lakisha signed up for the class in the beginning of February and has already lost inches for her May wedding in Las Vegas.

When I sat in on Nancy Eisenman's bridal boot camp this week, I wasn't really sure what to expect. What I saw was a fun, energetic, and fast pace workout class. The music was loud, the routines were quick, and the pace was great! It seemed like all the girls were enjoying themselves, it made me wish I had brought workout clothes to join in.
The class is for brides, bridesmaids, or any woman who wants to get fit and healthier regardless of status or fitness level. The BBcamp is offered in 4 week sessions and is conveniently located in Grandview. During the 4 week class you can choose to go to two or three sessions a week. For 2 sessions for 4 weeks the cost is $108 and three for $144. This is such a great price for all that you get during camp. Not only are you changing up your routine and getting fun new workouts but Nancy also helps with Nutritional counseling, fitness evaluations, body composition, health analysis, and will track and monitor your progress.

The next Bridal Boot camp Session begins April 4th-30th and the registration deadline is March 29th!

Rainy Shoes Day Tuesday

I thought todays SDT should match the gray and rainy weather.
They say rain on your wedding day is good luck so might as well dress the part.

Caring for your engagement ring 101

Have you not been able to stop staring at your ring since he put it on your finger? Do you sometimes stare at it at red lights in the sun (it's okay I won't tell). It is such a special piece that has both sentimental and monetary value. You want your ring to last a lifetime so it needs to be cared for properly.

First, insure the ring: Add a jewelry rider to your homeowner's or renter's insurance. If you want you can take out a separate policy with a specialty insurer like Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company.  Make sure you read the fine print to make sure the policy is what you want. You will need to provide a description of the ring- as appraised by a certified independent jeweler. Submitting a close-up photo of your ring is also a good idea. Extras: laser inscription and home security systems, may help you receive discounts!!
Keep your sparkler sparkling by cleaning your ring often. You can purchase a high quality jewelry cleaner that is meant for diamonds. Another option is soaking your ring in warm water with a few drops of mild dish soup and scrubbing with a toothbrush. It is important to clean off all the lotions, soaps, dirt, and skin oils that can cloud your beauty.

Ring maintenance should also include twice-yearly visits to your jeweler, who can check the integrity of the prongs on your setting. You don't want to have the chance of loosing a stone.

Lastly, you want to make sure that you take your ring off when doing activities that are rough on your hands. When doing dishes, cleaning, or swimming it is a good idea to remove your ring and put it in a safe location.
