Birthdays and Babies

It has been a big week in our household, starting with Kinsey's 30th birthday on Wednesday. 

Now today is my Brody's 6th birthday!!! If that wasn't enough we had our 3D ultrasound, those are CRAZY. We got some really clear pictures and most exciting we can finally say we are having a BOY!!

Shoes Day Tuesday

The royal wedding is over and so are our r.w. post so enjoy the last with this edition of Shoes Day Tuesday. I have to say I am very disappointed that a photo of Kate's shoes have not been released. We do however know that they were a custom pair of Alexander McQueen laced satin pumps. 

If you want your piece of a real Cinderella heel, you in luck, knock offs have been released including these $995 McQueens.

Weeks prior to the wedding there was huge speculation that Kate's shoes would be made by Aruna Seth.

Although the honor went to McQueen, the spotlight has still made Aruna Seth designs a hot commodity. The butterfly heel is the most popular but I prefer these sparklers.

Our Royal Wedding Party

Most people think I am crazy for getting up at 3:15 a.m to watch a wedding of two people I don't even know but let me tell you it was soooooo worth it and I had all my wedding industry twitter friends who are as crazy as me! Since I wasn't alive for Princess Diana's famous wedding this is my first big royal wedding and it did not disappoint.

The evening started with a sleepover at my aunts and just a few hours later the royal themed party began!

The food was delightful (do I sound British?) we had 

egg salad sandwiches, cucumber sandwiches, parfait, 

cupcakes, scones, and mimosas.

 The amount of butterflies I had at this moment was insane!

She truly looked like a Princess

Another favorite of the day is when he first saw her he said "you look beautiful"

The least favorite I have to say was the kiss. It was just a little blah,

although I felt a little better since there was two kisses but still...

maybe 3rd time would have been the charm

Okay seriously could the two of them be any more gorgeous?!

We were all watching people arrive in their fancy hats while wearing our own.

I wish we would wear more hats in the states, they are fabulous.

This one made me laugh out loud, when she turned sideways she looked like she had a blue rhino horn.

Harry needs to get on the ball. I'm already anxiously awaiting another R.W. 

Happy May!!

I am so happy that May is finally here. We all know the saying April showers brings May flowers and since we have had a ridiculous amount of rain we should have an abundant amount of flowers. My favorite May flowers are lilacs. They are a Mother's Day tradition for my family and mean a lot to me, I planted a lilac bush last year and am thrilled to have my first bloom on my very first Mothers day (Kinsey said I get to celebrate even though my bun is still in the oven and I'm not going to argue). I feel like my first bloom is a little gift from my mawmaw.
May is also big in this household because it's also birthday-palooza. Everyone in this house has a birthday; starting with Kinsey turning the big 30 now I know that 30 isn't that old but I like to tease and say that he's going to be a grandpa before actually being a dad, then 2 days later my fur baby Mr. Brody is turning 5, and ending the month with my 27th. If that wasn't enough I have 3 family birthdays in May as well. There will be a lot of cake eating for this mama for sure!

I continued to be reminded of the blessings God has given me and I am looking forward to May : )
